The Word became flesh

A family of the Lord Jesus Christ, learning to love and serve Him in North Edinburgh.

We're a church family who love the Gospel and prioritise listening to God's Word.  On Sundays we meet, sing, enjoy each other's company, and take the Bible seriously.

The best way to get to know us is to come along one Sunday morning.  You'll find a church who are pretty relaxed with one another, and love to welcome visitors.  We have a lot of young families, so parents and children should quickly feel at home.  Sundays aren't centred all around the kids though.  Our focus is on the ordinary things God gives His church to enjoy:  His Word and sacraments.  Through these we're helped to know the Lord better, to trust Him, and to live for Him out in His world.  Together we want to grow more and more like Jesus Christ, whose Gospel is the best news we've ever heard.

The heart of our message is life-changing news about a holy and loving God

He is so committed to His rebellious world that in love, He stooped down in the person of His son, Jesus Christ, to call human beings back into a relationship with Him.  Through the cross, Jesus took on our sin and shame.  Through His resurrection, we can share in His life and joy.  While we wait for His return to rule and restore His world, Jesus’ Spirit is already at work in His people: re-making our hearts and minds through His Word, the Bible.

For this reason, teaching and applying the Bible is at the centre of everything we do at Edinburgh North Church.  Through it, the God we love speaks, calls us to life, and patiently teaches us how to follow His Son, Jesus.  It’s as we listen to God carefully, week by week, that our joy in Christ grows and we're equipped to live confidently for Him in our communities.

As a presbyterian church, we are committed and accountable to a wider family of congregations called the Didasko Fellowship.  In common with believers across the world and down the ages, we joyfully affirm the ancient creeds and confessions of the Christian Church.  A more comprehensive summary of our beliefs can be found in the Westminster Confession of Faith.

Him we proclaim... that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
— Colossians 1:28

Getting to know us...

A church is the people, not the leaders.  It takes a little while to get to know everybody, but we hope you'll find us warm and welcoming!  In the meantime, here are a few people who would love to answer any questions, and help you settle in.
