John’s Gospel is a love story. It tells us of an Eternal Son, sent by the Father into a dark and estranged world to reclaim His Own. This is no watered down evangelistic tract. John assumes that many of his readers are steeped in the story of the Bible. But he writes that they might know and trust the one who spoke it: the source of all light, and life, and love.
